Subject: lizard-dragon on a peony branch; underside knob shaped as a five-petaled flower rosette. Function: belt buckle. Dimensions: height 2.8 cm, width 11.0 cm, depth 3.8 cm., A pale carved object rests on a light surface against a gradient gray background, appearing to be made of an off-white material with areas of light brown and small dark speckles; the carving has smooth, curved forms suggesting a stylized animal-like figure with a raised head at one end and a sinuous body, casting a soft shadow beneath it.
