Tsuba in the shape of a kobushi gata, with a slightly convex edge; kôgai hitsu closed with shakudô. Decorated on both sides in low and high relief with details inlaid with gold and shakudô. On the obverse, Shoki, the demon slayer, crouched under a tree; on the reverse, a sketched landscape motif. 18th century Edo period, 1603-1868; Japan, Yamashiro province, Fushimi. Tsuba. Height 8.9 cm; width 9.6 cm; depth 0.65 cm., A dark brown irregularly shaped metal object with a rough textured surface and a few small raised decorative elements, including floral-like motifs near the top and a small sculpted animal figure near the lower edge with accents in gold and lighter brown; the object has three openings in the center with uneven edges, one elongated and two rounded, and the background is a neutral gray.
