Cover with removable knob. 18th century, China. Vessel. Height 22.0 cm, width 21.0 cm, depth 17.7 cm., An ornate metal vessel with a rounded body and a domed, pierced lid sits on a matching pedestal base; the object shows a combination of dark bronze tones and bright gold accents, with gilded decorative elements including sculpted animal and dragon-like figures on the lid and body, flowing wave-like relief patterns around the midsection, ring handles with gilded mounts at the sides, a finial topped by an openwork spherical element with gold highlights, and layered circular bands and fluted motifs on the pedestal, all set against a plain light gray background and reflected faintly on the surface beneath.
