Decoration: dragons and hôô phoenix birds on the cover; various animals tigers, birds, fish, phoenixes, dragon with a pearl, clouds, sea waves, geometric patterns and meander ornament on the body and handles. Ritual/ceremonial vessel. Height 22.0 cm; width 21.0 cm; depth 17.7 cm., A decorative metal vessel with a rounded body and a domed, openwork lid sits on a carved round base; the object shows a combination of dark bronze and bright gold tones, with gilded ornamental figures and motifs attached to the lid and body, including small animal-like forms and cloud-shaped cutouts, and a finial topped by a sculpted figure; the base has fluted and banded detailing and echoes the dark bronze and gold coloration, and the whole piece casts a faint reflection on a smooth, neutral gray surface against a plain pale gray background.
