Vase on base. Chinese art; Chinese, Qing 1644–1911. Cast in bronze with cold-gold inlay, dusted over lacquer; varnished bronze with full-plastic relief and engraved decoration. On a high foot. Shoulders decorated with six buttons with rosettes. Round base with bulging side decorated with openwork plant ornament, on four short legs one missing. Lion iconography; antidated signatures. 17th–18th century, China. Vessel, vase: height 26 cm, diameter 16.5 cm; base: height 5.3 cm, diameter 13.1 cm., A metallic vase with a rounded body and flared neck sits on an ornate dark wooden stand, the vase showing a patinated bronze color with irregular gold-colored patches across its surface; the neck features sculpted decorative elements including a stylized animal or mythical creature relief and rounded knop-like details, all sharing the same bronze and gold tones, while the stand is carved with openwork patterns in a deep brown to black color and the background is a smooth pale gray.
