Censer with cover, Qing dynasty 1644–1911, 19th century, China. Censer with two handles in the shape of mascarons; lion fo iconography. Ritual vessel, censer; inlay with gold vein. Height 12.5 cm, width 11.1 cm., A bronze vessel with a domed lid and a stylized animal finial stands on a reflective surface; the vessel is primarily brown and bronze with darker greenish and blackish patina accents, a few decorative relief patterns around its body, a group of ornate handles shaped like animal heads on its sides, and three short, elaborately carved legs.
