Gui-type bowl, Qing dynasty 1644–1911, 2nd half 18th century. Bronze vessel modeled after a ritual gui. The bowl is supported by a low, ring-shaped foot; its shape and decoration refer to a ritual gui vessel. The walls are decorated with three horizontal rows of small, convex knobs reminiscent of archaic ruding nailheads decoration, framed by a thin rim at the bottom and a band framing the spout at the top. Two stylized handles on either side echo the old prototype. The upper part is decorated with an image of cicada larvae arranged in the form of a rosette. China. Height 4.5 cm; width 13 cm; diameter 7.2 cm., A shallow, round bowl with a short foot and two symmetrical angular handles sits centered on a smooth surface, the bowl carved from a warm beige stone with lighter and darker beige variations; the body of the bowl shows a textured band of raised rounded bumps around its midpoint, and the handles extend outward with right-angled inner and outer profiles. The background is a smooth gradient from dark gray at the top to lighter gray near the surface, and the surface beneath the bowl is a pale gray that reflects a soft shadow beneath and slightly to the left of the object.
