Vessel, Meiji period late 19th century, 1868–1912, Japan. Champlevé enamel decoration with plant motifs, butterflies, flowers, and fans; sasarindo coat of arms. Height 28 cm; diameter 28.6 cm., A short, rounded metal vessel with a flared rim and a bulbous upper section sits against a plain neutral background; its surface is decorated with intricate enamel patterns in turquoise, blue, green, white, red, yellow, and gold, including floral motifs and stylized shapes arranged in bands around the body; the rim and two horizontal bands are gilded with worn gold tone, and the lower base shows a mottled gold appearance with areas of darker patina; the piece casts a subtle reflection on the surface beneath it.
