Travel cutlery set in case;, Chinese, Qing dynasty 1644–1911, 19th century. Materials and components: a Knife with cloisonné enamel handle and steel blade. b–c Ivory chopsticks with inlaid black lacquer ornament at the top forming a border. d File decorated similarly to the chopsticks. e Case 3/4 the height of the cutlery made of cloisonné enamel with bronze fittings engraved at top and bottom; interior lined with wood; chopsticks and file held by a band decorated with a border; narrow cotton-silk strap with fringes attached. Case decorated with flowers in two reserves and plant tendrils in the background. Plant motifs and swastika iconography noted. Function: travel cutlery. Length: 28 cm case., A flat gray background with a few long, thin cylindrical rods arranged diagonally, the rods appearing off-white or cream in color; one rod has a dark gray textured section near its center, and the ends of some rods show small dark decorative bands with lighter accents.
