Travel cutlery set in case; Chinese, Qing dynasty 1644–1911, 19th century. Includes: a Knife with a cloisonné enamel handle and steel blade; b–c Ivory chopsticks decorated with an inlaid black lacquer ornament at the top in the form of a border; d File decorated similarly to the chopsticks; e Cloisonné enamel case reaching 3/4 the height of the cutlery, with bronze fittings engraved with ornamentation at top and bottom, interior lined with wood. Chopsticks and file are held by a band decorated with a matching border; a narrow cotton-silk strap with fringes is attached. Case decorated with flowers in two reserves and plant tendrils in the background. Motifs include plant designs and a swastika. Function: travel cutlery. Length: 28 cm case., A long metal blade with a pointed tip lies diagonally on a gray background, attached to a cylindrical handle decorated in light blue with floral patterns in red, white, yellow, and dark blue, and accented with metallic gold-colored bands at the blade junction and the handle end; the blade appears weathered with dark gray and silver tones while the handle shows bright light blue, red, white, yellow, dark blue, and gold colors.
