Travel cutlery set in case; Chinese, Qing dynasty 1644–1911, 19th century. Knife with cloisonné enamel handle and steel blade. Ivory chopsticks with inlaid black lacquer ornament at the top in the form of a border. File decorated similarly to the chopsticks. Case reaches 3/4 of the height of the cutlery; made of cloisonné enamel with bronze fittings engraved at top and bottom; interior lined with wood. Chopsticks and file enclosed in a band decorated with a border; narrow cotton-silk strap with fringes attached. Case decorated with flowers in two reserves and plant tendrils in the background. Materials: cloisonné enamel, bronze, steel, ivory, lacquer; function: travel cutlery. Length 28 cm case., A slender metal blade with a tapered point rests on a flat gray surface next to a long decorative handle covered in bright cloisonné enamel featuring a light blue background with floral patterns in yellow, white, purple, red, and dark blue, accented by gold-colored metal fittings at both ends; the blade shows a darker, weathered gray patina with some spots and uneven coloration.
