Travel cutlery set in case; Chinese, Qing dynasty 19th century. Knife with cloisonné enamel handle and steel blade. Ivory chopsticks inlaid with black lacquer border ornament. File decorated similarly to the chopsticks. Case of cloisonné enamel with bronze fittings engraved with ornamentation at top and bottom; interior lined with wood. Chopsticks and file held by a band with matching border; narrow cotton-silk strap with fringes attached. Case decorated with flowers in two reserves and plant tendrils in the background. Materials: cloisonné enamel, bronze, steel, ivory, lacquer, cotton-silk. Function: travel cutlery. Length: 28 cm case. Motifs: plant motifs and swastika iconography., A long cylindrical case with a decorative blue surface featuring swirling patterns and floral motifs in lighter blue, red, yellow, and green rests on a gray background, with metal end caps and a metal band near one end holding a few slender white sticks that extend partially out of the case; a gold-colored woven strap with a round metal fastener and a tassel lies looped above the case.
