Travel cutlery set in case; Chinese, Qing dynasty 1644–1911, 19th century. Includes: a Knife with cloisonné enamel handle and steel blade. b–c Ivory chopsticks decorated with an inlaid black lacquer ornament at the top in the form of a border. d File decorated similarly to the chopsticks. e Case reaching 3/4 of the height of the cutlery; made of cloisonné enamel with bronze fittings engraved at top and bottom; interior lined with wood. Chopsticks and file are secured with a band decorated with a matching border; a narrow cotton-silk strap with fringes is attached. Case decorated with flowers in two reserves and plant tendrils in the background. Motifs include plants and a swastika. Cutlery; length 28 cm case., A group of thin, pale rods with dark tips arranged vertically on the left, a long narrow blade with a patinated metallic surface and a decorated cylindrical handle featuring floral patterns in blue, red, white, and gold near the center, a long woven strap in tan with a fringed end and a round fastener hanging beside the blade, and a separate decorated cylindrical sheath on the right covered in ornate swirling designs in blue, turquoise, red, gold, and hints of white against a neutral gray background.
