Metal rings reinforcing edges and plaque attachment are gilded. 18th century, China. Height 8.2 cm; width 11.3 cm; diameter 12.2 cm., A rounded decorative container with a domed carved lid sits against a plain pale gray background; the lid appears white and carved with raised swirling floral motifs and rests in a narrow band of aged gold. The body of the container is predominantly turquoise blue with ornate scrolling patterns in green and gold and accents of purple, white, red, and a few touches of yellow, featuring stylized flower motifs. The container has a horizontal aged gold band around its middle and an aged gold circular base, with a few areas showing subtle wear and darker patina.
