Decoration: ducks on a turquoise background; lotus tendril on the neck. 19th century. China. Height: 23.5 cm., A rounded vase with a narrow neck and flared rim sits against a plain pale gray background, decorated in bright colors on a predominantly turquoise-blue ground; the neck features stylized floral motifs in red, white, green, dark blue, and gold with a gold rim at the top, while the body shows a pattern of concentric wave-like lines in darker blue and several painted ducks in colors including black, yellow, red, white, green, and blue, along with green leaf shapes; a decorative band with diamond shapes in red, blue, yellow, white, and gold encircles the base, which also has a gold edge.
