Plate, Chinese, Qing dynasty 1644–1911, 19th century. Cloisonné enamel round plate with a flat bottom, arched rim, on a low foot. Mirror decorated with a tondo surrounded by a multicolored lotus tendril; tondo depicts a cricket in motion perching on flowering plants, positioned at right, with flowering plants dominating the composition. Outer rim filled with medallions showing stylized Chinese symbols lotus, peach surrounded by cloud-like projections. Underside of the bottom covered with single-color turquoise enamel. Vessel; height 2 cm, diameter 14.7 cm., A shallow decorative bowl with a rounded rim sits on a reflective surface, showing a reflection beneath. The bowl has a bright blue background with patterns in colors including gold, yellow, red, purple, black, and dark blue, and a metallic gold band along its base and rim. The design includes small circular motifs and stylized cloud-like shapes in the various colors, and the interior shows similar blue and gold decorative elements. The overall scene has a pale gray background.
