Vase, Chinese, taotie motif, Qing dynasty 1644–1911, 19th century, ceremonial/ritual vessel, porcelain/ceramic vessel, height 24 cm, diameter 13.1 cm, China place of origin uncertain, A single vase with a flared rim and a narrow neck widening into a bulbous body above a flared foot, shown against a plain light gray background; the vase surface is primarily dark brown with reddish undertones and a glossy patina, and it bears a band of ornate raised decoration around the midsection and another narrower band near the neck featuring swirling abstract motifs in muted green, pale yellow, light blue, and olive hues set against a lighter, aged background; the upper rim and lower foot remain the dark brown color, and the vase casts a soft reflection on the surface below.
