Metal collar ending a sword hilt fuchi by Kita Takenori, metalworker; Mito school. Decoration in high relief, inlaid; engraved signature. Iconography: moon, lotuses, momiji maple leaves, flowers. Materials/subject: katana hilt fitting, cold steel/oriental weapon. Date: late 18th–19th century Edo–Meiji periods. Japan. Dimensions: height 3.9 cm, width 2.2 cm, depth 1.2 cm., A dark oval object with a vertical central opening sits against a flat gray background; the object is mostly black with subtle lighter scratches and worn areas, and it has small gold-colored protrusions visible at its sides, with a tiny white mark near the bottom edge.
