Decorated with a realistic, colorful motif of red veil fish beneath hanging wisteria leaves and flowers on a light blue background. The bottom bears a maker’s mark in the form of a flaming pearl with the katakana character ? ko, the mark of enameller Gonda Hirosuke of Nagoya. Circa 1890–1910. Height 9.0 cm; diameter 8.2 cm., A round ceramic vessel photographed from above with a light blue surface decorated with floral and leafy patterns in dark green, muted purple, pale pink, brown, white, and beige, featuring a circular dark interior rim with a metallic gold-colored band around its opening; the background is a soft pale gray.
