Decorated with a motif of a blooming iris bush rendered with naturalistic fidelity and varied color tones, executed using the yusen cloisonné enamel technique against a uniform sea-green background. Narrow, colorful borders of small triangular cicada wing forms around the foot and rim. Japanese, Nagoya; ca. 1900 Meiji period, 1868–1912.
