Vase, gift, repossession Krakow — Ovoid vase one of a pair, slender, on a low ring-shaped foot and a narrow neck, flaring at the rim. The foot and mouth are framed with sheet metal. Decorated with a motif of a blooming iris bush rendered naturalistically with varied color tones. Executed using the yusen cloisonné enamel technique against a uniform sea-green background. Around the foot and rim are narrow, colorful yusen borders composed of small triangular forms called cicada wings. Japanese, Meiji period, ca. 1900; Nagoya. Vessel; height 25 cm, width 9.7 cm, depth 8.8 cm., A tall, slender vase with a narrow neck and flared rim sits against a neutral background, the main body covered in a deep teal color with a glossy finish; decorative floral motifs appear on one side featuring elongated green leaves and buds, a few purple petals, and a white flower with pale detailing, while the rim and base have narrow bands with small scalloped and geometric accents in colors including red, blue, white, and gold.
