Small box with a lid, Kinkôzan, Sôbei VII 1867–1927 author, Kinkôzan workshop, Japanese, Meiji period late 19th century, Japan — Kyoto, Awata. Satsuma ceramics vessel/container decorated with wisteria and butterflies. The lid has a gold knob in the shape of a flower; the vessel has two slightly convex handles and stands on three wide feet. Signed. Height 6.8 cm; diameter 10.2 cm., A circular porcelain object seen from above with a white background area decorated with floral and insect motifs in colors including gold, green, pink, blue, brown, and black, a central raised gold rosette surrounded by a ring of petal-like shapes in dark green, red, and gold, an ornate gold patterned border encircling the rim, and two gold handles protruding from opposite sides.
