The lid has a gold knob in the shape of a flower. The vessel has two slightly convex handles, on three wide feet. Signed, late 19th century Meiji period, Japan, Kyoto, Awata. Vessel, container; height 6.8 cm, diameter 10.2 cm., A small decorative round lidded bowl with a domed lid and a floral knob, resting on a reflective surface; the bowl is primarily white with extensive gold trim and accents, including a gold rim, a gold patterned band around the lid, and a gold handle; delicate painted floral and foliage motifs in green, blue, pink, purple, brown, and pale yellow decorate the white surface, with fine gold detailing interwoven among the flowers; the knob on the lid is textured and gold, and the bowl stands on small feet with gold embellishment; the background is a uniform gray.
