Bell on a stand in the shape of a paifang gate. Chinese art; Chinese culture; Qing dynasty 1644–1911. Zhong-type bronze bell 18th century, missing the upper part of the shaft used for hanging the part above the ring, decorated with an archaized pattern resembling a taotie mask. Wooden stand, gilded, in the shape of a paifang gate with a mount for hanging the bell; after conservation the stand consists of three elements 19th century. Maker, purchase, A wooden object with a glossy red finish sits on a neutral light-gray background, shown from a low frontal angle that reveals a recessed rectangular top surface with rounded corners and beveled edges; the wood shows darker red and brown grain variations and a few areas of wear with lighter brown exposed wood at the corners, and behind the red form a curved dark green element with a textured surface is partially visible.
