Bell on a stand in the shape of a paifang gate., Chinese, Qing dynasty 1644–1911. Bronze zhong-type bell 18th century, missing the upper part of the shaft used for hanging the part above the ring, decorated with an archaized pattern resembling a taotie mask. Wooden stand, gilded, in the shape of a paifang gate with a mount for hanging the bell; after conservation the stand consists of three elements 19th century. Dimensions: stand height 64.5 cm; bell height 34 cm., A decorative hanging bell suspended in a carved wooden frame shaped like a small pagoda is shown, with the bell made of greenish tarnished metal featuring raised geometric and curvilinear relief patterns, and the wooden frame finished in a reddish-brown tone with carved roof tiles, curved eaves, ornamental brackets, and a rounded base.
