Coffee pot, gift; Arabic and Jewish cultural influences; beverage vessel cezve. Beginning of the 20th century, Palestine. Materials and decoration: copper with Hebrew inscriptions inlaid in copper, Star of Solomon motif, arabesque patterns. Hinged lid hinge halfway down the handle; lid topped with a crescent. Inscriptions deciphered: drinking; in the hexagonal star Gan Eden, garden; in the cartouche for celebration; under the handle, in the Seal of Solomon/Star of David Mim from the word water. Vessel dimensions: height 15.5 cm, width 15.5 cm, diameter 8.7 cm., A small metal vessel with a conical base and a narrower cylindrical neck, shown with its hinged lid open and a long narrow handle extending outward; the object has a worn metallic surface in shades of brassy gold and darker bronze with areas of patina and tarnish, and decorative raised patterns and accents in silvery and reddish tones, including a few ornamental scrolls and a six-pointed star motif; the interior and some hinge components appear dark gray to black, and the background is a smooth light gray.
