Coffee pot, beginning of the 20th century, Palestine. Cezve vessel for coffee, height 15.5 cm, width 15.5 cm, diameter 8.7 cm. Materials: copper with inlaid decoration. Decoration: Hebrew inscriptions inlaid in copper, Star of Solomon motif six-pointed star, arabesque patterns, crescent symbol; hinged lid with hinge halfway down the handle and lid topped with a crescent. Inscriptions deciphered: words including drinking; in the hexagonal star Gan Eden, garden; in a cartouche for celebration; under the handle, in the Seal of Solomon / Star of David Mim from the word water. Cultures: Arabic, Jewish., A metal vessel with a hinged lid and a long handle is shown against a plain light gray background. The vessel has a conical base that tapers up to a narrower neck and rounded shoulder, and a curved spout extends from the upper body. The hinged lid has a small decorative finial and the handle connects to the lid mechanism with a pivot. The surface of the object shows metallic tones of brass, bronze, and darker aged brown, with areas of lighter silver and subtle reddish highlights in ornamental details. The metal displays worn and polished areas and a slightly reflective sheen, and there are engraved and raised decorative motifs around the body and shoulder. The overall color palette includes brassy yellow, bronze brown, silver-gray, darker brown, and hints of reddish copper.
