Coffee pot, ; Arabic and Jewish cultural influences; beverage vessel cezve. Decoration: Hebrew inscriptions inlaid in copper, Star of Solomon motif, arabesque patterns. Hinged lid with hinge halfway down the handle; lid topped with a crescent. Inscriptions deciphered: reads drinking; in the hexagonal star Gan Eden, garden; in the cartouche for celebration; under the handle, in the Seal of Solomon/Star of David Mim from the word water. Early 20th century, Palestine. Vessel: height 15.5 cm, width 15.5 cm, diameter 8.7 cm., A metal pitcher with a conical base and a hinged lid sits against a plain light gray background; the pitcher shows a worn metallic finish in shades of brass, bronze, and dark brown with areas of silver and copper inlay forming decorative curving motifs and a central six-pointed star design on the body; the spout extends from the upper portion with a sculpted hinge and a small curved finial atop the lid, and the surface exhibits patina and slight scratches with reflections visible on the smooth tabletop beneath it.
