Vase, Japanese, Edo period 1603–1868, Genroku–Kyoho ca. 1690–1730. Blue-and-white porcelain from Arita, decorated with hares/rabbits, peonies, lotuses, and phoenixes kacho/kachôga motifs. One of four elements of a set; vessel height 39.0 cm, diameter 20.3 cm., A tall, flared ceramic vase with a glossy white base decorated in blue floral and foliate patterns, featuring large stylized flowers and leaves arranged vertically along its narrow body, a flared rim with decorative bands and motifs, and a slightly flared foot with a repeating decorative border; the background is a smooth, neutral gray, and the vase shows shades of deep blue and lighter blue on white with subtle reflections on its surface.
