Japanese, 19th century late Edo to Meiji period, 1603–1912., Japanese swords/weapons; kashira. Dimensions: height 0.9 cm, width 3.7 cm, depth 2.0 cm., An oval metallic ring-shaped object sits on a smooth gray surface with a subtle reflection beneath it; the object is dark brown to bronze in color with small gold-colored decorative elements on one side, including a gold-toned curved branch-like detail and a tiny gold cup-shaped ornament, and the interior of the oval shows a slightly darker brown patina.
