Bowl, Qing dynasty 1644–1911, 19th century, China. Colored porcelain bowl on a foot, height 3.6 cm, diameter 6.6 cm. Decorated on the outside with a meander stripe and Buddhist symbols including cranes and the endless knot, lambrequin pattern. Function: vessel., A small porcelain bowl sits on a reflective surface against a plain gray background, showing a rounded exterior with a narrow base and flared rim. The bowl is primarily white with decorative painted motifs in colors including red, green, blue, pink, orange, yellow, and gold. Around the rim is a band with a red geometric pattern and a thin gold edge. The exterior decoration includes flowing ribbon-like cloud forms in pale green and blue, floral elements in pink and green, and a stack of rounded ornamental shapes in orange, pink, blue, and green tied with a bow. A narrow yellow band with small blue details encircles the foot, and the bowl’s interior rim also shows repeating pale green cloud-like motifs with gold edging. The bowl’s underside and foot are white, and the reflection on the surface below echoes the colors and shapes.
