Bowl, gift, Qing dynasty 1644–1911, 19th century, China. Colored porcelain bowl on a foot, height 3.6 cm, diameter 6.6 cm. Decorated on the outside with a meander stripe and Buddhist symbols—including cranes, endless knot—and a lambrequin pattern. Function: vessel; style: Chinese ceramics., A small porcelain bowl with a rounded shape and a short foot, shown against a plain gray background. The exterior of the bowl is white with decorative motifs in several colors including red, blue, green, orange, purple, and gold. A red geometric band runs near the rim, and a thin gold line edges the top. Below the band are stylized cloud-like green and purple swirls and a few emblem-like motifs in blue and orange, with delicate pale green ribbon-like accents. The interior rim shows a repeating pale green scroll pattern with gold edging. The bowl casts a soft reflection on the surface beneath it.
