Porcelain jardiniere vessel from Arita, Japan; colored porcelain imari with floral decorations—chrysanthemums, sakura, peonies, plant tendrils—and geometric ornaments. Iconography includes phoenixes hoo, kachôga, and spotted pheasants. Height 50.5 cm, diameter 58.0 cm, weight 28.0 kg., A large ornate ceramic vessel with a rounded shape sits against a dark background, decorated with an intricate pattern of floral and organic motifs in blue, red, orange, gold, and white. The rim interior shows alternating panels of blue and red with floral elements, and the main body is covered in a dense arrangement of stylized flowers and leaves in blue and red with gold accents on a white ground. Central circular medallions feature a more detailed scene in red and blue surrounded by decorative borders, and vertical panels with floral motifs appear on the sides. The lower section has a band of blue-toned decorative arches, and the overall surface shows a glossy finish.
