Sake jug chôshi with lid. Yellowish clay covered with grayish glaze; woven wicker handle. Decorated with animals deer with antlers, maples and leaves. Function: alcohol/sake vessel. Meiji period, late 19th century Japan, Harima; Otsu. Height 8 cm; width 12 cm; diameter 10.5 cm; weight 0.24 kg., A small ceramic teapot shaped like an animal with a rounded body and a short spout sits on a reflective surface; the teapot is mostly pale green-beige with a pattern of several white circular spots and darker brown-green accents on the lid and raised decorative lines, and it has a woven brown handle arched over the top.
