Vase, Qajar dynasty 1785–1925, Islamic Persian floral ornament. Lacquer vase, 19th century, Iran. Decoration: densely placed plant motifs peonies with gold contouring; on the collar and above the foot flowers red and gold. Vessel, height 32.0 cm, diameter 17.0 cm., A tall, urn-shaped ceramic vase with a narrow neck and flared foot, predominantly dark in color with intricate carved or painted floral patterns covering most of its body; a decorative band near the top features a colorful floral motif with reds, yellows, greens, and touches of orange set against a darker background, and a similar colorful band appears near the base; the central body shows dense, textured floral designs in deep bluish-green and dark tones with subtle golden accents; the neck and foot have dark brown to black areas with hints of worn lighter brown.
