Platter, ceramics, colored porcelain, Qing dynasty, Tongzhi period 1862–1874, Chinese, decorated with the Taoist Taiji sign in the form of two stylized birds intertwined, surrounded by the Eight Immortals and their corresponding trigrams; outer rim decorated with Buddhist symbols. Vessel; height 5.8 cm, diameter 24.5 cm., A shallow, octagonal porcelain dish with a raised foot, displayed against a plain light gray background, showing pale celadon and white glaze with painted decorative motifs in colors including green, blue, red, brown, and gold; the rim has a reddish-brown border pattern, the exterior sides feature a few stylized floral and ribbon-like designs in blue and red with touches of yellow and brown, and the foot is decorated with green wave-like patterns and small pale dots; the dish casts a soft reflection on the glossy surface below.
