Crossguard tsuba, Jakushi, school, Jakushi, Kizaemon, / personal slogans / author; katana sword crossguard tsuba in the shape of a mokkô quatrefoil, with a kôgai hitsu hole plugged with shakudo, copper sekigane, textured surface ishime ji. Decoration in low relief hirabori, with fine details inlaid with gold, in places using the nunome technique, and copper. Both sides bear a Chinese-style mountainous landscape with human and architectural staffage — mountains, bamboos, pine trees, bridges. Signed. 18th century Edo period, 1603–1868. Japan; Nagasaki, Hizen. Dimensions: height 7.6 cm, width 6.0 cm, depth 0.4 cm., A round, flat metal object with an uneven, worn surface and irregular edges sits against a plain gray background; the metal shows dark brown and black tones with areas of dull golden highlights and patches of lighter brown; there are a few cutouts and slots in the center and a small raised, smooth oval shape near the top, and the surface texture appears rough with scratches, dents, and subtle variations in color.
