Qing dynasty 1644–1911, 19th century, height 54.2 cm., A carved dark brown wooden figurine of an elderly man with a long beard and a high forehead stands holding a tall twisted staff; he wears flowing robes with carved patterned details and stands on a sculpted base with organic, wave-like forms, accompanied by a few small figures and animal-like shapes clustered around his legs; the surface shows polished highlights and deeper reddish-brown tones against a neutral gray background, with areas of lighter brown and subtle darker accents across the carving.
