Brown container with two handles and a lid in a navy blue brocade bag silk. Dark brown, porous wheel-thrown clay; light brown glaze with rough air bubble cracks; plastic handles. 19th century; Japan, Owari. Vessel; height 6.3 cm; diameter 5 cm., A rounded ceramic jar with a short neck and a small arched handle near the top sits centered against a plain background; the jar's surface is mottled brown with darker speckles and patches and a slightly rough texture, and it has a lighter tan area near the base; a smooth, pale lid rests on the neck with a small pale knob on top, and the jar casts a faint reflection on the glossy surface beneath; visible colors include brown, tan, pale off-white, gray, and hints of darker brown.
