Wan-nari type tea bowl wan-nari chawan, maker, gift; Japanese; Edo period 18th–19th century; stoneware bowl on a low, round foot with rough surface; partly glazed with white milky and grey-bluish glaze with numerous spots and drips; gold lacquer veins; fillings and gluing made with gold lacquer; chawan tea vessel; height 8.4 cm, diameter 13.5 cm., A ceramic bowl with a rounded form and a short foot, showing a weathered surface of off-white, beige, brown, and grey tones with speckled and mottled textures, and visible golden lines filling repaired cracks; the interior is a muted grey-green with spots of brown, the rim shows darker brown wear, and the base has reddish-brown and greenish patina, all set against a neutral grey background with a faint reflection beneath the bowl.
