Ding-type incense burner with cover, Chinese, Qing dynasty Qianlong period, 1736–1795, ceremonial ding-type censer decorated with lotus plant ornament, bronze incense burner vessel, height 11.5 cm, diameter 11.0 cm., A rounded tripod vessel with two upward-curving handles, decorated overall with ornate swirling floral and foliate patterns in a palette that includes turquoise, green, blue, pink, red, gold, and touches of purple, set against a darker base; the rim features a band with a geometric border in blue and gold and a scrollwork band in green and gold, while the body displays stylized lotus-like flowers outlined in gold and interlaced scrolling vines; the three short legs continue the same decorative motifs and colors, and the handles are highlighted with gold interiors and green and gold ornamentation on their outer faces; the surface shows areas of worn patina and subtle variations in color and texture.
