Ding-type incense burner with cover; maker, Chinese; Qing dynasty, Qianlong period 1736–1795; ceremonial ding vessel/censer decorated with lotus plant ornament; inscribed/provenance: Paderewski, Ignacy Jan 1860–1941 noted; incense burner; height 11.5 cm, diameter 11.0 cm., A rounded lidded vessel with two upward-curving handles and three short bulbous legs, decorated all over in swirling floral and foliate patterns. Predominant colors visible are turquoise, dark teal, blue, pink, purple, green, gold, brown, and hints of red. The lid appears to be a smooth dark brown with subtle concentric contours, while the rim has a gold band with a decorative motif. The body shows an intricate enamel-like surface with scrolling vines, stylized flowers, and layered color fills, with gold outlining and accents. The handles are dark green with gold detailing, and the legs echo the same multicolored decorative scheme with gold trim at the feet. The overall surface has a slightly aged patina and a glossy finish in places against a neutral pale gray background.
