Date: 1736–1795 Qianlong period, China; vessel; height 5.5 cm, diameter 12.4 cm., A porcelain bowl sits on a reflective surface against a neutral gray background, showing a rounded form with a flared rim and a short foot. The bowl's exterior is white with intricate blue painted decoration featuring sinuous scrolling motifs and a stylized creature with a scaled body incorporated into the pattern. The blue decoration varies in tone from deep blue to lighter blue washes, and a thin blue band circles the rim and the foot. The interior rim appears plain white, and the reflection beneath the bowl shows the white and blue colors mirrored on the surface.
