Crossguard tsuba by Senryûsai, Yasumitsu; Ichiryû school; design after a painting by Hanabusa Itchô 1652–1724. Rectangular with rounded corners nadegaku gata and a slightly raised edge uchi kaeshi. Decorated in low relief with the two immortals Jittoku and Kanzan reading a scroll; reverse shows a landscape with a golden sun disc emerging from clouds. Costume details ornamented with gold inlay using the nunome technique. Edo period c. 1801–1830, Japan Mito. Tsuba, height 8.7 cm, width 8.0 cm, depth 0.4 cm., A flat, oval metal object with a dark brown surface and a slightly rough texture is shown against a gray background, featuring a stylized gold semicircular shape near the upper left edge with wispy cloud-like gold embellishments extending from it toward the center; the metal has three elongated openings near the middle, one triangular and two rounded, and there are subtle variations in the dark brown with small areas of rust and patina.
