Jug, late 19th century, Northern India, or Iran, silver vessel, height 43 cm, weight 1795 g. A tall silver jug with a pear-shaped body and a tall conical neck that tapers upward into a wide spout. The entire surface is richly decorated with plant motifsāleaves, twigs, various flowers including carnations, and plant tendrils. On one side of the belly is a blank shield coat of arms. The handle is ornamented with zoomorphic figures: spotted animals with large ears and open mouths. A hinge at the upper edge of the handle indicates the vessel originally had a lid., A tall ornate vessel with a narrow neck and rounded body standing on a flared foot, entirely covered in intricate raised floral and leaf patterns, with visible seams and a few cracks in the surface; the surface appears metallic with shades of silver and pale gray, and the background is a smooth light gray.
