Jug aftabe, unknown provenance; Islamic art; aftabe water jug; 19th century, North Caucasus; vessel; height 30.0 cm, length 14.8 cm, diameter 12.0 cm., A metal ewer with a tall narrow neck, a curved spout, and a high arched handle sits against a plain light gray background; the vessel has a rounded, bulbous midsection above a flared, ridged foot and a hinged lid topped with a small bird-shaped finial. The surface shows a weathered, textured patina with visible areas of wear and scraping, displaying shades of silver-gray with darker gray accents and touches of muted brownish or coppery tones along edges and ridges. The handle and spout have slight discoloration and surface irregularities, and the overall form features subtle ridges and vertical paneling on the body, with a soft reflection visible beneath the base.
