Teapot, 19th century, Turkey; Ottoman dynasty 1299–1922; Islamic art, Turkish; teapot vessel, height 17.0 cm, diameter 10.9 cm, weight 320 g; materials not specified; decorated with geometric motifs, plant ornament, zigzag, lambrequin., A metal pitcher with a hinged lid is shown against a plain light gray background; the pitcher has a bulbous lower body tapering to a narrower neck and a short spout, a curved handle attached along the side, and the lid is open and connected by a hinge. The surface of the pitcher shows decorative punched and engraved bands around the upper and middle sections with scalloped and floral-like motifs and a raised braided band encircling the midsection; the lid has matching decorative edging and a small knob. The visible colors are silver-gray of the metal with areas of darker gray patina and some faint off-white or yellowed discoloration on the hinge and handle.
