Crossguard tsuba, Tsuchiya Yasuchika 1670–1744. Oval tsuba tatemaru gata in copper with ryohitsu ana and sekigane; decorated in high relief using iro-e takazôgan inlay with various metals. Obverse: a fisherman in a boat pushing with a long pole and looking at a bird flying against the clouds. Reverse: reeds growing over the water and the moon emerging from behind the clouds. Edo period, 1st half of the 18th century Japan, Edo now Tokyo. Height 7.5 cm; width 6.9 cm; depth 0.4 cm., A rounded metal disc with an aged brass appearance showing areas of darker patina and lighter golden highlights, featuring a carved irregular central opening and a separate rounded cutout; a small sculpted figure with darker metal tones and golden clothing stands on a raised platform at the edge while holding a thin vertical rod, a small bird motif appears near the top on a textured background, and a few stylized water ripples and a small cluster of decorative elements are visible near the lower edge.
