Tsuba of an egg shape, with a separated edge and decorated with pearling; rectangular seppa-dai decorated in low relief with a stylised volute ornament. Not signed. 18th century Edo period, 1603–1868, Japan. Materials: metal. Dimensions: height 6.5 cm, width 5.8 cm, depth 0.35 cm., A decorative round metal object sits against a smooth light gray background; the object is dark brown to black with some metallic sheen and small areas of lighter brown patina, and it has an ornate openwork pattern with floral and looping motifs and a beaded outer rim.
