Crossguard tsuba, Raiyôken, Yoshimasa maker, sword crossguard in the shape of an otafuku chubby woman's face. Edo period, Kaei 5 1852, Year of the Rat, Japan. Iron tsuba, height 8.7 cm, width 8.35 cm, depth 0.5 cm. Edge thick, clearly defined and rounded hira dote mimi; oval seppa dai. Decorated in low relief with two dragons; shield guard surfaces carved on both sides in low relief with rough sea waves umiji. Outlines of the side hitsu holes visible, later plugged with different engraving style. Edge decoration includes two dragons. Inscription phrase kitsu jitsu happy day present. Weapons, katana; motifs: dragons, sea waves, rat zodiac; melee weapons; Japanese art; nô character Otafuku., A round, dark brown metal object with an oval hole near its center sits against a pale gray background; the surface shows carved swirling wave patterns and a raised border that forms a continuous serpentine dragon motif with textured scales and a detailed dragon head visible along the lower edge, and the metal has a slightly rough, matte finish with variations of dark brown and gray tones.
